What’s the Buzz at the Barn Shops? | April 2026 Community Update

Welcome to the April edition of the Barn Shops Buzz, your guide to everything happening at 1609 Baltimore Pike. Since 1969, we’ve put “Community First,” and this month is no exception. Whether you’re looking for local art, live music, or a bit of local history, there’s something for everyone at the Barn.

Meet Caitlin

“To make art is to be human. Life is a creative act.”

Q: What makes The Naked Lady unique?

One-of-a-kind pieces, handmade with love by local artists and artisans.

Q: What inspired Second Saturdays?

A desire to connect our audience with the art and the incredible artists in the community.

Q: What do you hope it becomes?

A monthly gathering of makers and growers, sharing craft and connecting through creation.

Q: One thing people might not know?

The Naked Lady is a kind of flower—a lily.

Chadds Ford Barn Shops

Andrew Wyeth, Pennsylvania Landscape, 1942

Brandywine Museum of Art

Born from a 1967 effort to protect the Brandywine Valley, the museum opened in a renovated 1864 gristmill. Andrew Wyeth — who feared development would change Chadds Ford forever — donated the first works of art to bring it to life.

Today it stands as guardian of the region’s artistic heritage and an active community partner — a testament to what love for place can preserve. www.brandywine.org

Chadds Ford Barn Shops

“As a photographer of nature… I search for images that transport you in space and time — pictures you can almost touch. These are the places that inspire and must be preserved.” — Matthew Inden

The Barn Shops is a compass for access, mindful observation, and rooted care — for the land and for our community first — honoring Matthew Inden.
